CapaJet to operate special charter flights from Australia and NZ to India

date:2020-06-13view:4212

CapaJet, a charter flight operator, HQ in Hong Kong, will be operating more charter flights between Australia, New Zealand and India to bring back stranded Indians. The airline had received overwhelming response with India to Australia repatriation missions including the current Mumbai-Sydney flight.

As per a company release, CapaJet will be launching India to New Zealand flights, with the first flight between Bengaluru and Christchurch on June 17. The company hopes to start more flights on the route in the upcoming days.

CapaJet has selected Singapore Airlines to operate its long haul Asia and APAC repatriation mission. With such strategic associations in place, CapaJet is set to repatriate over 5000 people by the end of June.

The company claims that it has become the preferred carrier for repatriation for countries like India, Australia, New Zealand and Canada for special repatriation flights while discussions are on with many other countries.

The New Zealand to India repatriation charter flight is in accordance with MEA directive, which allows charter flights and non-scheduled flights to operate back into India, bringing back stranded Indians.

“In these difficult times, CapaJet has expanded and engaged its services in collaboration with different governments to run repatriation flights. After many months of being stuck abroad, we are pleased to be able to assist and partner to complete these critical humanitarian missions. We look forward to working with additional authorities and countries to expand our offerings in this space and add additional routes,” said Fergus Forbes, Repatriation Manager, CapaJet.
