Attention!The EU requires the reporting of SVHC information in products

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has announced that its SCIP database is available and companies will now need to submit information on SVHC substances in their products to the database.

On 28 October 2020, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced that its SCIP database was available and companies now need to submit information on SVHC in their products to the database.Eu regulations require companies to submit this data from 5 January 2021, and consumers and waste managers can access and use the data from February 2021.

 

SCIP database

 

SCIP database is a database of information about substances in products established in accordance with the EU Waste Framework Directive (WFD).From 5 January 2021, companies selling products containing SVHC at concentrations above 0.1% on the EU market must submit information on these products to the ECHA.The SCIP database ensures that stakeholders have access to information containing SVHC items throughout the product's life cycle, including the waste phase.Information from this database will also be made available to consumers and waste operators.
